This course is designed to contribute in your continuous professional development (CPD) process. As such, it aims to give you an introduction or refresh your knowledge on the subject of positional asphyxia which represents a dangerous risk that front-line staff should be aware of when using physical restraint. The course provides beginner level information about the respiratory system, asphyxia, positional asphyxia as well as various physical restraint techniques, the inherent risks of certain physical restraint methods and some guidelines to prevent those risks.

At the end of the course, you will be assessed through a multiple choice online exam and will be awarded with a CPD certificate upon complete.
