Upcoming ASIS Events and Updated Standards

ASIS International offers multiple events throughout the year that enable security professionals to network with other professionals, hear from leaders in the industry, and see the latest in security technology.

Upcoming events

ASIS Europe – From Risk to Resilience will be organised on 21-23 March 2023 in Rotterdam, Netherlands to bring together the security industry from across the continent and world. The event will focus on enterprise-wide security and the role security plays in supporting business objectives. Keynote speakers will be Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General of DIGITALEUROPE and Catherine De Bolle, Executive Director, Europol.

Security LeadHER is an all-new conference that is dedicated to advancing the role of women in security, to be organised in cooperation of ASIS International and Security Industry Association (SIA) on 12-13 June 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Elaine Palome, Co-Chair of Security LeadHER, says: “The theme for this event is ‘Leading Change,’ and attendees will have opportunities to meet influencers and industry experts face-to-face, break our of their comfort zones, and re-energize! The thoughtfully curated content will be designed to encourage and support the growth of both the current and future LeadHers.”

GSX 2023 (Global Security Exchange) will be organised on 11-13 September 2023 in Dallas, Texas, USA. Registrants can attend in person at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas or digitally from anywhere in the world. GSX attendees will have access to CPE-eligible education on the most pressing issues facing the security industry, an opportunity to network with hundreds of other security professionals from across the globe, and the chance to experience the most cutting-edge security products, technologies, and services in the Exhibit Hall.

Updated standards:

An updated version of Management System for Quality of Private Security Company Operations Standard (PSC.1) was released by ASIS International.

The PSC.1 Standard builds on the Montreux Document and the International Code of Conduct (ICoC) for Private Security Service Providers to provide guidance on how management systems can support high-quality security operations and risk management, especially in circumstances where the government has been weakened and the rule of law is being undermined.

The standard provides auditable requirements based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act model, so private security companies can receive third-party certification. This standard can help private security companies improve their services without compromising the safety and security of their clients.
