About The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Global Security Director, Assistance, based in London. With a team of over 200 security experts based in 33 locations you will join a truly global team of pioneers in security risk management.

As the Global Security Director, Assistance you will lead our global security assistance team, responsible for providing the highest levels of security assistance, planning, response and advice to client requests for assistance and associated case management. Leading a team of regional Security Directors, Manager and Specialists you will oversee the delivery of market leading security incident management, advisory and crisis response services worldwide.

Working closely with the security information & analysis team you will ensure that operational planning and security case management guidance is done in lockstep with our intelligence assessments and ensure that operational planning and decision-making in both business-as-usual and crisis scenarios are being fed by the analytical position and outlook.

Key responsibilities

  • Professional accountability for security assistance planning and preparedness, worldwide, and for the high-quality delivery of forward-leaning global security assistance and advice to client requests.
  • Ensure International SOS has a best-in-class security assistance capabilities by leading projects relating to functional enhancements
  • Direction and deployment of Incident Management Team(s) to provide on-the-ground support to clients
  • Ensure implementation of the Global Quality Management Program and global quality improvement initiatives across regional security assistance operations.
  • Ensure the security assistance community has appropriate numbers and diversity of security providers and secure hotels for case management, developing action plans for the business where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the medical and security assistance services various functional areas to ensure excellence of case management and operational planning outputs
  • Work closely with the Air Transport Services team to ensure an appropriate network of charter aviation assets are available to service security evacuation requirements.
  • Involvement in regular client engagement including marketing communication events and PR opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will have broad experience in security operations and assistance delivery and planning including deployed experience in hostile or challenging environments in military, government or private sector roles. They will have proven experience in planning, managing and conducting complex security assistance operations, crisis management experience and:

  • Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to build on the existing growth of this business while continuously delivering a great service to clients
  • Have inspiring and impactful leadership skills, people management and a willingness to train and mentor team members
  • Have a proven track record of building and growing client relationships
  • Will be a driven and proactive team player who enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and disciplines

  • Hybrid working (at least 3 days in our Chiswick Business Park office) is available
