Intelligent Fingerprinting system will be showcased at the Health & Safety Event 2023 (HSE2023) on 25-27 April.
Based in Cambridge, UK, Intelligent Fingerprinting specialises in the development of non-invasive, fingerprint-based diagnostic technology for use at point-of-care. The company has developed the world’s first portable fingerprint-based drug screening system.
Intelligent Fingerprinting is a portable and visual system that uses sweat for drug test to determine any recent use of cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamine or opioids.
This drug screening technique is based on the pioneering research of our Founder, Professor David Russell, at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.
Professor Russell’s research, which has been published in leading scientific journals, focused on the study of drugs and drug metabolites in fingerprints. Through his work he discovered that drug misuse could be detected through analysis of the tiny traces of sweat in fingerprints.
How fingerprint-based drug testing works
Intelligent Fingerprinting’s drug testing system features a small, tamper-evident drug screening cartridge onto which ten fingerprint sweat samples are collected in a process that takes less than a minute. The Intelligent Fingerprinting portable analysis unit then reads the cartridge and provides a positive or negative result on-screen for all drugs in the test in ten minutes.
One of the benefits of this technology is that it is non-invasive, as it only requires a fingerprint sample, and it does not require a blood or urine sample.
Additionally, the technology can provide results in just a few minutes, making it useful for on-the-spot drug testing.
Intelligent Fingerprinting can be visited on stand 3/L2 at the Health & Safety Event 2023 for a live demo.
