Winners of the Women in Security Awards were announced on the evening of 14 September at Shakespeare’s Underglobe in London.
The event celebrated women in the private security sector and drew a remarkable gathering of inspirational women practitioners and senior leaders from the security sector.
As a long-term supporter of apprenticeships and their significance in helping to bridge the burgeoning skills gap in the electronic security and fire safety sectors, National Security Inspectorate (NSI) stated that it was delighted to once again sponsor the Apprentice of the Year Award, for the fifth consecutive year.
The winner of the Security Manager category was Michelle Agnew of Double Check Security Group.
Julie Deeming of Westgrove Group received the Frontline award.
Debbie Lawmon of Ward Security was chosen as the winner of Business Manager Award.
Emma Kay of WalkSafe received the Technical category award.
The winner of Contribution to Industry category was Sarah-Jane Cork of City Group Security.
And Special Recognition Award went to Baroness Ruth Henig.
Organised annually by Professional Security magazine and Patron Una Riley, the Women in Security Awards is a prestigious ceremony to commend and celebrate the achievements, contributions and remarkable accomplishments of women within the wider world of security.
Judges consisted of Association of Security Consultants, ASIS International – UK, British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Dr Tom Brookes MSc PhD CEng FIET, International Professional Security Association (IPSA), NSI – National Security Inspectorate, Security Industry Authority, The Security Institute, SSAIB and The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.
