The taxi firm has terminated the employment of a driver over a video which shows him with a suspected firearm.
In the video posted on social media, a driver for FonaCab points suspected firearm at another man in the front passenger seat of his car. At one point, while driving, the driver hits the other man in the face with the barrel of the firearm.
The BBC claims that they identified the location in the background as a car park in Holywood, County Down in Northern Ireland.
FonaCAB issued a statement stating that the driver was off the clock and the individuals in the vehicle were not their customers.
Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have said they are aware of a video circulating online showing a man with a suspected firearm and have launched an investigation.
A 48-year-old man has been arrested “on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of a firearm or imitation firearm”.
