FGH Security to provide security for Eurovision 2023

FGH Security announced the award of the Eurovision 2023 Security and Stewarding contract with Culture Liverpool and Liverpool City Council.

FGH Security Team will be keeping people safe across the City of Liverpool throughout May at incredible place like Euro Festival, which forms part of the host city offer and will see 24 commissions – 19 of which are co-productions between UK and Ukrainian organisations and Liverpool’s official Eurovision Village, which is a nine-day programme of exciting events guaranteeing fun, food and fantastic music.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the biggest and most popular television events in the world.

It is estimated that over 200 million people will watch the final of the contest this year, which is taking place in the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.

The Eurovision Village will open on May 5 at Liverpool’s Pier Head, with events running every day until the Grand Final on May 13.

The first eight days of the Eurovision Village will be free and non-ticketed, with the Grand Final Party at Pier Head on May 13 priced at £15 a ticket. The first wave of tickets for the Grand Final Party went on sale on April 14 from the Ticket Quarter website.

Commenting on the contract award, FGH Security Operations Director Ben Knott said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be involved with Eurovision 2023.

“Liverpool is a major part of our operations and has been for many years.

“This global event will bring thousands of visitors to the region and we understand the importance of delivering a safe event.

“Our focus is to ensure that every visitor has a safe and enjoyable experience and we are working hard to achieve this with our colleagues at Culture Liverpool, Merseyside Police and the BBC.”

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Liverpool after Ukraine was unable to host the event due to the ongoing war.

Ukraine won the 2022 contest, but the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) decided that it would be too dangerous to hold the event in the country this year.

Liverpool was chosen as the host city after a bidding process that involved several other cities in the UK.
