Invest in Gloucestershire, the county’s leading inward investment programme, has revealed the arrival of Turkish cyber security LB&WAF vendor TR7 into Cheltenham. The company will be establishing their global HQ in Eagle Tower in the next few months.
This comes after Phil Clement, Head of Inward Investment at GFirst LEP, presented to TR7 and other Turkish cyber firms in Istanbul in January, organised by the Department for Business & Trade. The team hosted the company on two visits to Gloucestershire this year – the most recent just last month. Senior managers will be relocating from Turkey and discussions are underway with the Global Entrepreneurs Programme who are supporting the visa process.
The company, which specialises in load balancing and web application firewalls, has recently gained many plaudits for its cyber security work related to the recent national elections in Turkey. TR7 will be looking to recruit additional sales and technical staff as they expand into other international markets, with the UK as their new global HQ.
Phil Clement, Head of Inward Investment at GFirst LEP commented ‘We are very pleased to welcome TR7 into the growing cyber security cluster in Gloucestershire, the largest outside London. Our thanks to the Department for Business & Trade for supporting our efforts to promote the Gloucestershire cyber ‘offer’ internationally, including the Cyber High Potential Opportunity (HPO) afforded to us by Central Government’
Ömer Günel, General Manager TR7 said, “TR7 are excited about opening our new global HQ in Cheltenham. We have been impressed by the depth of the cyber ecosystem in Gloucestershire and we look forward to bringing over key members of our team from Turkey as well as hiring from the excellent local talent pool. The strong sense of community, with many people offering to help support our scaling-up, was an also important factor’. “
TR7 are looking forward to joining the cyber ecosystem in Gloucestershire and joining the team at Eagle Tower.
