Emergency Services Day, i.e. 999 Day, is celebrated every year on 9 September.
2 million people who serve across NHS and emergency services and 250,000 first responders are celebrated every year on this day.
This was also reflected on social media where all services shared their thoughts and well-wishes.
The day also aims to promote using emergency services responsibly, educate the public on lifesaving skills, and promote careers in the services.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle shared on social media that they are flying the Emergency Services flag in New Palace Yard today to sho appreciation of the entire parliamentary community.
